My Ultimate Kitchen Pantry Makeover

My pantry before

Talk about a hot mess! My kitchen pantry was functional but a little messy. If you follow me on Instagram then you know I’m in the kitchen quit a bit so I need to have a sense of organization when I’m in there.

Initially when we moved in to our new home I repainted the shelves and set it up nice and neat so the photos above are what the set up was. Looking at these photos now make me cringe just a bit because it was organized chaos (in my mind). Well, with Mr. COVID-19 on the loose I decided to upgrade my pantry again. This time I wanted to see more of the food, ingredients and things that we used regularly so that I would know when to go to the grocery store to replenish.

Unfortunately, my laundry room and pantry are in the same room. This meant that I had to make sure it was all cohesive and flowed together.

For our laundry detergent I purchased a beverage dispenser from At Home and created labels with my Cricut Air2 machine.

Things like Oxiclean, bleach, and dryer sheets went into this cute grey basket from JOANN Fabric. This way I can hide some of the different shaped boxes and bottles.

I also used those grey baskets to store other items in my pantry like oil, sauces, overstock of the pastas that I buy, and more. You’ll see in images below.

Our grocery list and to-do list was also done with my Cricut Air2. I purchased white frames from At Home and got the iridescent craft paper from Michaels.

Clear containers and jars are MY THING! I absolutely love seeing my ingredients and food in these jars. When I saw these teal lid jars at At Home you can image my excitement because you all know that is my favorite color and the theme for my kitchen. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find anymore so I’m glad I found them when I did.

All glass canisters came from either Ikea, The Container Store, or At Home.

Miscellaneous things go in the grey cubbies from At Home. Even though this pattern is no longer available, you can find several different patterns and prints there or even at Walmart for a reasonable price.

The Large canned goods organizer is from Amazon. It comes in 3 sizes (20 cans, 40 cans, and 60 cans). I got the large organizer that holds 60 cans thinking I had a lot of cans but actually didn’t. I could have gotten a 40 can holder and been perfectly ok with that but lesson learned. If I wanted to, I can take the large organizer a part to down-size it but I’m too lazy to do that so…

Initially, she had hand-written the verbiage on my original canisters and jars (as seen in the first image). Since I added new canisters and wanted them all uniformed I opted to do them with vinyl.

Ok I got this brilliant idea to store miscellaneous things on my shelves from Instagram. Believe it or not, these are magazine file holders that go in an office lol. Yes I know it’s weird but you have to admit that it’s also brilliant because it brings the pantry together in a neat way and breaks up all of the glass that you’re looking at throughout the shelves.

I store little things like packaged rice, potatoes, coconut sugar, and even a can of fried onions. They are super cute and easy to assemble.

You can’t have a beautiful pantry without beautiful pantry labels. Because I have almost used my Cricut Air2 for everything in the house I knew I would use it for my pantry. However, I didn’t want to design all of the labels myself so I went to Etsy for help. I found a lady that had pre-made labels and purchased them from her.

Because some of the items in my pantry were not in the label she sells, I reached out to the seller and she was kind enough to give me the font that she used for the labels so I could design special ones for those missing items.

I did have to resize the labels to fit my jars but it saved me a whole bunch of design time in the end.

In the end, I’m happier now with my kitchen pantry because not only does it look beautiful but it is functional. Til this day, it looks about the same as how it does in the pictures because everyone puts everything back in it’s rightful place…or else!
